Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure our liposuction surgeons are very capable of performing. This cosmetic surgery procedure is performed on the abdomen, back, back of the arms, buttocks, calves, chin, neck and thighs.
Our liposuction surgeons are experts in carrying out liposuction operations with positive results from our patients.
Overview
Liposuction, contrary to popular belief is not a weight loss tool. Instead, it is a cosmetic procedure that has subtle effects.
It is usually done to complement operations done to other parts of the body or where fatty deposits are found. This is used on the areas including the abdomen, back, back of the arms, buttocks, calves, chin, neck and thighs.
Best Candidates
People with realistic expectations with good general health and as close as possible to their ideal BMI based on age, height and other physical factors.
What to Expect
A cannula is inserted under the skin and then a powerful vacuum facilitates the removal of the fatty deposits found underneath.
NOTE: This is not an effective weight loss method and definitely not a cure for obesity.
There is a limited amount of fat that you can safely suck out and going beyond that limit may result in dents. Other risks included in the operation are contracting an infection, numbness and scarring.
Liposuction surgeons will still advise you to reduce your weight before undergoing liposuction to achieve positive results. Adapting a healthier lifestyle after the operation will lead to lasting results.
After Surgery / Recovery
As with all types of surgical procedures, caring for the areas where sutures were made is the highest priority. Follow your liposuction surgeon’s instruction for the proper care of affected areas.
Scarring may remain slightly pink for six months or more before they fade to a thin, barely visible line.
